Our Technology

Technology plays a vital role in advanced dental health care and treatment. At Bella Family Dental, we utilize a variety of digital imaging technologies for highly precise diagnoses and conservative treatment options.

Digital X-rays

Dentists have relied on radiography for a long time to get a clear, detailed picture of a patient’s teeth, teeth roots, jaws, and oral structures. Now, we utilize digital radiography that produces even clearer, more detailed images almost instantly. Digital X-ray images are projected onto a chairside monitor that your dentist can view along with you, and you don’t have to wait for the images to be developed as you would with traditional X-rays.

Intraoral Cameras

Visual inspection is the main point of a dental checkup, but some areas are harder to see with the naked eye. For a more accurate inspection, your dentist can utilize a digital intraoral camera, which is a tiny camera that attaches to a thin wand which allows your dentist to move it around your mouth comfortably. The camera can show your dentist areas that are hard to see by projecting the images onto a digital chairside monitor.

CBCT Scans

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) use cone beam X-rays from a variety of angles to create a digital 3D model of your teeth, their roots, and the surrounding jawbone structure. The images also include the soft tissues and nerves that travel through them. This makes CBCT scans an essential tool in diagnosing complex bite and oral health issues, and in designing highly customized cosmetic and restorative treatment plans, such as dental implant placement.

For greater comfort and precision in many soft-tissue procedures, we often utilize electrosurgery, or the process of using a high-frequency current to gently cut or trim soft oral tissues. The heat generated by the frequency helps promote faster healing during the process, which not only offers higher precision but also reduces healing times and the risks of infection following your procedure.
